  1. Nat, keep up the effort. I'm on a diet, too, though different from yours. Look for the sugar in all its forms--honey, starch, maple syrup, corn syrup, molasses, brown sugars, raw sugar, beets,--and eliminate it from your diet. Use stevia instead as a sweetner. Unfortunately, sugars are put into almost every food, so you will have to eat lots fresh fruit, vegetables, meat, and fish so as to avoid the sugar.

Also, stay away from the cold breakfast cereals and other packaged breakfast foods: they're loaded with multiple forms of sugar. Bob's Red Mill sells a wide variety of cereals and flours that you can use to change your diet completely. Once you eliminate sugar and reduce your carbohydrates, your will lose weight more quickly. It is also essential to eliminate or drastically reduce consumption of products that contain yeast, for yeast is a living organism that feeds on sugars and carbohydrates. It is yeast that causes the cravings for junk foods. Eliminate pasta, potatoes, and white rice and other starchy foods, for those become sugar that feed yeast.

  2. Thanks Daniel I appreciate your encouragement and support. I am definitely trying to cut down on my sugar and white carb intake. But I don't want to have too many restrictions because then I'm dieting and I'm trying to stay away from dieting. In the past I've completely deprived myself and then end up bingeing. My focus is to enjoy food but develop a healthy relationship with food. I started reading a book called Women, Food and God. It focuses on learning "why" you're overeating. I've known for a long time that I eat for many reasons besides hunger but this book is really helping me to dive into the specifics of that.

What type of diet are you doing?
